Nicholas Poppe founded Steadfast Tree Service in 2012 after completing a degree in forest Science at Alabama A&M University. He was inspired to start the company after doing volunteer storm-damage work in his community. He has worked extensively in forestry-related work throughout the country in both the private sector and for the government. Since 2004, he has lived in Huntsville with his wife and daughter.
An active member of the community, Nicholas is heavily involved in many communities and volunteer programs in the area. Since creating STEADFAST TREE SERVICE, he has assisted numerous homeowners with the removal of hazardous trees, brush clearing, storm damage work, and commercial property management.
Nicholas ran a saw team on wildland fires in Montana, Idaho, and California. He performed field reclamation projects, removed storm-damaged timber, and received extensive training and certifications.
Nicholas assisted landowners with forest management projects, built fire lines, and removed trees during wildfires in North Alabama. He also performed storm-damage operations and received extensive training and certifications.
Assessing hazard trees including diseased trees and defensible space for fire control was routine during this employment period.
Nicholas surveyed timber throughout the Ouachita National Forest. During this work, he observed and reported health statistics of various tracts of timber.
